Members
of Ware Rotary Club Visiting the Air Ambulance Base
Members of Ware Rotary Club, led by
President Denise Newman, recently visited North Weald airfield
to present a cheque for £500 to Herts. Air Ambulance. As they
arrived, the crew were scrambling for a mission and took off for
a motor accident at the junction of the M25 and M11.
Fortunately, the air ambulance was not required and returned
shortly, so club members were able to meet the crew, discuss
operations and have a closer look at the helicopter.
Commented immediate past president, Alan
Mills, "We were warmly welcomed, this was a great day out and
our thanks to fund raiser, Maureen Palmer (who took the photos)
for organising it but, of course, there is a serious side. Lives
are being saved but it is an expensive operation and it receives
no government funding, so it is down to the likes of us to keep
it going".
